This is the largest of the county forest units, 9873 acres in size. This unit is located in the NE corner of the county, between the cities of Wausau and Antigo. There are multiple access points throughout the unit. 177300 County Road G is the address for the County Road G parking lot.  Additional hiking areas are located on the north end of Sawmill Road, with miles of improved trails that have been seeded and are mowed annually. Most of this forest unit is low and wet ground, dominated by aspen and swamps. There are some hardwood islands and a few scattered spruce plantations throughout the forest. This unit receives substantial hunting pressure in the fall for waterfowl, upland game, deer and bear.

This unit also contains the Bitzke Bird Walk and there are nearly two miles of hiking trails within the area.
