This 5,248 acre forest unit is our designated Ruffed Grouse Management Area. This unit is specifically managed to provide excellent grouse and woodcock habitat and consequently receives substantial hunting pressure in the fall. There are multiple access points and parking areas to the unit: Hwy. 153, Twilight Road, Hunter’s Road, Guenther Road, Co. Hwy. C and Leather Camp Drive. The main interior woods road running from Hwy. 153 to Hunter’s Road is well improved providing excellent hiking and horse back riding. This unit is attached to the Kronenwetter Forest Unit on the north end.
