This 303 acre unit is located roughly 8 miles north of Wausau, along Co. Hwy. “W”. The Wisconsin River flows through this block, dominating the features. There is an unimproved boat launch at the end of Pine Bluff Road. This launch is used largely by canoeists and smaller flat-bottomed boats to either float the river downstream to Brokaw or Wausau, or fish the local waters. The western portion of this unit is only accessible by boat.

The forest is a mixture of mature, old white pines, young white and red pine areas, and bottomland hardwoods, within the flood plain of the Wisconsin River. There is an excellent hiking trail that parallels the ridge overlooking the flood plain. The snowmobile trail runs along the eastern portion of this unit.
