The Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office may perform forensic pathology-related services for referral counties upon request. Prior to considering a request for service, the referring county will need to have a signed service agreement on file with Marathon County.  Please contact our office at 715-261-1199 if you are a Referral County looking to establish service.

Decedent identification and autopsy referral forms are required on all referral cases. Forms must be submitted prior to the transport of the body to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Referral Counties may request to temporarily store a body at the medical examiner’s office. There is a fee charged for this service.
