The following County Projects are planned for the 2025 Construction Season: Additional details or schedule updates will be posted on the County’s Road Construction Announcements and Traffic Bulletins when available.


County Road N from County Road KK to USH 51 and County Road R from County Road N to Sherman Street

  • Crews will remove the top layer of asphalt and pave a new surface on the road. 
  • The road will have a grooved surface after milling is complete and before new pavement is installed.
  • Crews will be repairing some storm inlets and replacing some of the curb and spot locations of the multi-use trail at intersections.
  • Work on the curb and trail is anticipated to begin in early May.
  • Work on removing the existing top layer of asphalt is anticipated to begin the week of May 19th.
  • Paving is planned to begin the week of May 27th.
  • Work is planned to be completed in early July.
  • The segment from County Road NN to Sherman Street is planned to be closed to all traffic and detoured to USH 51.  Access will remain to Home Depot via Sherman Street.
  • The segment from County Road KK to County Road NN will be reduced to one lane in each direction and the speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph. (The reduced speed limit adds about 2 minutes if driving through the entire project but provides better safety for drivers and workers and provides safer access from side streets).
  • Drivers should expect delays and will be driving on grooved surfaces during construction. Please use alternate routes if possible.


County Road M from County Road P to State Highway 29

  • Crews will remove the top layer of asphalt and replace some of the curb & gutter between County Road P and Leroy Street before placing a new top layer of asphalt.
  • Crews will recycle the existing asphalt into a new gravel base course and place a new asphalt surface from Leroy Street to State Highway 29.
  • The road will have a gravel surface after the old pavement is processed and prior to paving operations commencing.
  • Road work is planned to begin late June and be completed near the end of July.
  • The project will be posted as Road Closed - Local Traffic Only. Businesses and residents will have access during construction but should expect delays and rough driving conditions at times.
  • A detour route is not planned for the project.


County Road U from State Highway 107 to County Road O

  • Crews will recycle the existing asphalt into a new gravel base course and place a new asphalt surface.
  • The road will have a gravel surface after the old pavement is processed and prior to paving operations commencing.
  • Road work is planned to begin late July/early August and be completed late August/early September.
  • The project will be posted as Road Closed - Local Traffic Only. Businesses and residents will have access during construction but should expect delays and rough driving conditions at times.
  • A detour route is not planned for this project.


County Road H from State Highway 29 to Corn Road

  • Crews will remove the top layer of the existing asphalt and place a new asphalt surface.
  • Work is planned to begin in late July and be completed in August.
  • Project will be posted as Road Closed – Local Traffic Only.  Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses, but drivers should expect delays and rough driving conditions at times.
  • A detour route is not planned for this project.


County Road H from County Road N to State Highway 29

  • Crews will remove the top layers of the asphalt and place a new asphalt surface.  Work also includes spot replacement of sidewalk and curb & gutter. 
  • Work is planned to begin in June and be completed at the end of August.
  • Project will be posted as Road Closed – Local Traffic Only.  Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, but drivers should expect delays and rough driving conditions at times.
  • A detour route is not planned for this project.


County Road NN from Thornapple Road to Whippoorwill Road

  • Crews will remove the pavement and base course on the hill and replace it with new base course and drain tile.
  • Work is planned to occur in July.
  • Project will be posted as Road Closed with a detour using County Roads O, N and R.


County Road J and N intersection

  • Crews will reconstruct the intersection and change the stop control to be an all-way stop.
  • The project is funded with 90% safety funds because of a significant number of right-angle crashes.
  • The project will include a median on County Road N and flashing stop signs.
  • Work schedule is pending, but the project is scheduled to be completed between June and August.
  • Project will be posted as Road Closed with two detours.  CTH J traffic will be detoured on Gusman Road, Kramer Lane to County Road N, County Road X to County Road Z. County Road N traffic will be detoured on County Road X, County Road Z to County Road Q.


Bridge Projects

The following bridges are planned to be replaced during the 2025 construction season.  Schedules are to be determined and will be posted on the County’s Road Construction Announcements and Traffic Bulletins when available.

  • County Road H – Rocky Run Creek between County Road N and STH 153.
  • County Road F – Branch of the Big Eau Pleine River between County Road A and Draper Road.
  • County Road L – Little Rib River between County Road H and County Road S.
  • County Road A – Big Rib River between State Highway 107 and County Road O.
  • County Road C – Plover River between County Road J north and County Road J south.
